Intentional Creativity

Healing Thru Creativity

Intentional creativity involves creating art to gain insight and promote healing. Making art in this way is not about being talented, gifted or artistic.  It is about getting to your soul’s essence through creativity, hearing inner messages and giving them form in words and painting in a relaxed and nurturing environment.  One of the most beautiful aspects of Intentional Creativity is that it is available and accessible to everyone

Becoming

Intentional Creativity is an approach to creating that yields greater access to who we are now and who we are becoming, and what is possible for us and our unfolding future.

Intention

Rather than beginning with the left-brain question of, “What should I make?” the Intentional Creativity practitioner stands before a canvas (or other medium), asking the sacred question, “What is my intention?”

Mindfulness

Creating with intention is simply working with mindfulness in whatever we set our hands to. We are more present because we choose to be and the results are different because of that presence.

Transformation

Intentional Creativity is more than an approach to painting and healing.   It is based on the belief that patterns in our life can be transformed by awakening our innate creativity and through the application of imagination.  The practitioner of Intentional Creativity claims themselves to be a place where storytelling, art-making and inner wisdom come together to reconstruct often unconsciously held narratives.

Perspectives & Possibility

We invite all aspects of our being to be present.  Our entire self is engaged.  We look boldly within and surrender to mystery and possibility. Conscious-altering portals are painted to open perspectives and expand patterns of thinking.  Linear thought yields to stream of consciousness as new intentions ask to be included.

Inner Wisdom

Flow precedes composition as layers of brush strokes and washes of color solidify into shapes, symbols, and codes. The multi-faceted image that is ultimately revealed on the canvas could not be architected from the start.  Rather, it is born out of the inner wisdom that has been accessed and given form through the journey of intention.

Intentional Creativity Roots

One of the most beautiful aspects of Intentional Creativity is that it is available and accessible to everyone.  Creating is our birthright and the only requirement to create in this way is a willingness to be present and to explore.  Loretta is a certified Intentional Creativity Teacher and Guide.  This methodology was developed by Shiloh Sophia, MUSEA: Center for Intentional Creativity® & Consciousness.
